St Albans and Verulamium Museum
Richard Lee’s 16thC Helmet
We recently worked with St Albans Museums imaging artefacts at our studio in St Albans. In discussion with Kate Warren (Public Services Manager) it was clear that the opportunity to share artefact images in full 360+, to visitors of the museums website was of real interest.
Our main focus was on the Sir Richard Lee’s (1513-1575), 16th Century funerary helmet, shown here. A delicate armoured helmet of significant historical interest (Henry V111′s Military Architect) really has to be handled with care. Our staff, accompanied by museum staff, approached the task with due care and attention. The result below is absolutely fantastic and gives unprecedented access to this fascinating piece of history to thousands of people visiting the museums website. To find out more about the helmet and other items please visit www.stalbansmuseums.org.uk.
On the day we took over 200 shots so that we could then create a seamless, all over 360+ Interactive Image. We are having another day session planned with St Albans Museum in December 2010 and we will be imaging some of the best Roman Artefacts in the world in OutSphere 360+. We will be delighted to share those images here on our site.
So if you like the look of our ancient helmet in 360+ and you can see applications for your artefacts or antiques then why not CONTACT US for a chat or arrange a visit to our studio and discuss your needs. We are offering an extremely competitive rate to educational organisations to encourage the sharing of amazing artefacts for all to see.
